Hydropower
Hydropower makes an important contribution to the successful implementation of the energy transition in Germany. After all, 3.25% of gross electricity generation in Germany (2016) comes from hydropower. We would like to support our customers in this and assist them with all issues relating to the grid integration of hydropower in order to continue on the path they have chosen in a safe and grid-compliant manner. You will find the relevant details and services for all the topics mentioned on the left.
For manufacturers
As early as the development phase, we offer manufacturers of hydropower plants type testing on behalf of the series in the course of unit certification. With the unit certificate, the product is ready for the market and can therefore be successfully marketed. If the systems are unique, the individual verification procedure must be used.
For project planners
The BDEW Medium Voltage Guideline 2008 obliges operators of hydropower plants to submit a plant certificate to their responsible energy supply company. The system certificate assures you and your grid operator that your system is operated in conformity with the grid and thus guarantees you a permanent grid connection and permanent remuneration. The certificate verifies all requirements from the grid connection guidelines with regard to the electrical properties of your generation system. The certification process is completed with the issue of the EZA declaration of conformity.
For operators
The protection test is not only part of the commissioning of a hydropower plant, but also at regular intervals as part of the complete testing of a hydropower plant. This usually takes place both at the transfer point to the grid operator and at the generation units or a higher-level protection device, for example at a transformer station. The protection test can also be part of the “periodic inspection”. Details on this can be found on the pages of our inspection body.
