Services for network operators

The new technical application rules of the VDE (VDE-AR-N 4105 I 4110 I 4120 I 4130) require a flood of additional protection tests and verification documents that grid operators must check when commissioning new generation systems – such as the system certificate, which now applies to systems from 135 kW. Thanks to our many years of experience in verification and our highly qualified employees, we support grid operators with this task in a responsive manner in order to absorb capacity peaks. As part of compliance monitoring, we check the form and content of verification documents from grid operators. This includes

  • Electrical planning for prototypes

  • Investment certificates

  • Extended commissioning declarations

  • Declarations of conformity

Grid operators are also obliged to introduce compliance monitoring as part of the requirements of the European network codes and to effectively demand its implementation throughout the entire life cycle of the generation plants – e.g. in the form of recurring inspections. Here, too, we support the network operators with our services.

Process support in the application procedure:

  • Examination of the installation planning documents E.4

  • Provision of coordinated checklists for efficient testing

  • Direct feedback to applicants, which reduces internal effort

  • Testing the grid compatibility

  • Prototype control

  • Assistance with the creation of the E.9 grid operator questionnaire

Process support in the operating license procedure:

  • Examination of system certificates E.15 and declarations of conformity E.12 in the operating permit procedure

  • Provision of coordinated checklists for efficient testing

  • Direct feedback to applicants, which reduces internal effort

Fault recorders (procurement, operation and evaluation) and power quality measurements:

  • Measurements of system perturbations (harmonics, flicker)

  • Analysis and documentation of events to ensure grid quality, in particular the behavior during voltage dips

  • Comparison of network quality criteria over the years

  • Possibility to check the plausibility of network simulation models

  • M.O.E. quality seal (independent confirmation of network quality by an accredited body)

Support in the operating phase in accordance with NC RfG:

  • Checking the evidence and documentation submitted by the connectee in accordance with section 11.5.5 of the VDE-AR-N 4110 guideline

  • Provision of coordinated checklists for efficient testing

  • Direct communication with operators and action planning to remedy deviations

Our expertise not only helps to reduce the effort involved in complying with legal requirements, but also enables us to ensure and further develop network quality and availability in the long term.
